Why use an Application Service Provider (ASP) to host an EMIS? |
|
- Given an Internet connection, information may be accessed from anywhere at anytime;
- The application is hosted off-site, freeing the user from database administration and software development;
- No special hardware or software is required, the database application is accessed by a web browser;
- Hosted applications will be upgraded frequently with no additional user requirements;
- Environmental professionals often do not have the expertise, the time, or the budget to design, build, and host an internet database application; and
- Fees charged by an ASP are typically directly billable to clients.
